Clinical Supervision
I'm an experienced clinical supervisor with a particular interest in incorporating principles of Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) to create a supervision space that feels safe and supportive. I'm committed to working with supervisees to cultivate a learning environment where we can celebrate and build on strengths and also feel safe to examine our shared experiences of feeling overwhelmed, unwanted countertransference, getting it wrong or doubting our competence.
Alex glows with positivity and has provided a space which is non-judgemental and always supportive. I feel confident to discuss any mistakes, concerns or challenges.
Jess - CBT Therapist and Person Centred Counsellor
Supervision should be more than just reviewing your work and planning next steps. It should be a space to reflect on your own thoughts, feelings and behaviours, explore and integrate new ideas, develop your skills and experiment with new techniques. It is also an opportunity to explore who we are as therapists, examining our own barriers, fears and insecurities, learning to be compassionate towards ourselves when things feel challenging.
Alex was an incredibly supportive supervisor, he made me comfortable enough to bring video clips of difficult sessions to supervision and I learnt from his suggestions and input.
Danielle - Trainee Clinical Psychologist
I'm a BABCP accredited CBT Supervisor and I provide clinical supervision for a growing number of experienced therapists, including those wishing to pursue and maintain BABCP accreditation. I've also spent many years supporting trainee and novice CBT therapists to develop and maintain their knowledge and skills.
My experience working across a broad range of clinical settings enables me to confidently support therapists in a wide range of roles and service contexts. As well as CBT therapists, I've supported Counsellors, Clinical Psychologists, Integrative Therapists, Junior Doctors, PWPs and EMHPs to develop their CBT skills through teaching, focused supervision and coaching.
